EVkids is about more than weekly tutoring and summer camp.

Kids come for tutoring, sure, and for mentoring too. We train tutors to be trusted advocates and mentors for children and youth, and we nurture those relationships. We provide support for families, and certainly we close the loop between parents, teachers, and tutors, to weave a strong community of support for each kid.

And those things are important, but they’re not the whole story.

For that, you’d need to know about the tutor who took time away from studying for finals, after Tutoring had ended for the year, to attend his tutee’s father’s funeral. Or about the campers who were so scared to be away from home, but left Camp with life-long friends and a homemade medal from the EVkids Olympics. Or the tutor who got up early on a Saturday to cheer on his tutee at the middle schooler’s first debate tournament.

It’s about the high-five moments.
